Privacy Policy

How Apostolic Lighthouse Church collects, uses, and protects information shared through our website and mobile app.

Effective date: September 27, 2026

Overview

Apostolic Lighthouse Church ("ALC," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains the information we collect when you use the Apostolic Lighthouse Church website or mobile app, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Account identifiers used to sign in to Small Groups.
  • Small-group requests, membership requests, meeting details, messages, reports, and related activity.
  • Prayer requests and information you voluntarily include in a submitted form.
  • Basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information about another person unless you have permission to share it.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide app and website functionality, authenticate accounts, coordinate and oversee Small Groups, deliver messages within approved groups, respond to prayer requests or support needs, protect users, and maintain the reliability and security of our services. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

Service Providers and External Services

We use service providers to operate church features, including Amazon Web Services for Small Groups accounts, data, and form submissions, and public services from Google and YouTube for calendars and media. Supabase may support earlier app versions during our Small Groups service migration. Podcast, giving, merchandise, and other external links may take you to services governed by their own privacy policies.

Sharing and Oversight

Information is shared only as needed to provide the requested feature. Small-group leaders may access membership information for their groups. Group leaders and authorized church oversight personnel may review reported messages and remove content for safety, accountability, and administration. Blocking a user hides messages between the two accounts. Prayer requests are made available to authorized church personnel responsible for responding to them. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, rights, or the security of our services.

Retention and Security

Small-group messages automatically expire after 183 days, which is approximately six months. Other information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for church operations, safety, legal obligations, and the purposes described in this policy. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You may choose not to create a Small Groups account and can still use the app's public features. A signed-in user can permanently delete a Small Groups account in the app from Groups, the account menu, Account Settings, and Delete Account. Group leaders must first transfer leadership or delete their groups. Deletion removes the Cognito sign-in identity and associated Small Groups profile, memberships, requests, messages, reports, and block relationships; safety audit entries are anonymized. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of other personal information by contacting us. Some records may be retained when required by law.

Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for the church community and are not directed specifically to children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission should contact us so we can review and address the request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
