Young Ladies

Today’s Christian Girl provides a network for girls across the nation and around the world in a way like never before in our interest group.
   Mission Statement: Helping today’s girl become tomorrow’s Christian woman: a balance of mental, physical, spiritual, and social graces.

  A club-type program designed to help girls grow according to Luke 2:52, “and Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.” This passage shows that Jesus, as our example, was a perfectly balanced person.

  He grew in wisdom; that is mentally,
  In stature; physically,
  In favor with God; spiritually,
  And favor with man; socially.

 Purpose: David prayed in Psalm 144:3, “Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him”? 12a… “that our daughters may be as cornerstones, polished after the similitude of a palace”.

  Our passion is to teach and train young ladies in basic life principles while inspiring them to achieve their highest potential through Christ; that through the method of mentoring we may “polish” them to become as cornerstones that are purposeful, and to become as beautiful in life and spirit as a “palace”.

  Program: Today’s Christian Girl program is supported with suggested curriculum. Each group may choose which material to use and at what pace to advance. Connections will assist in providing the framework of the club with suggested meeting formats and resources for program ideas.

  Concept: A program for girls 10 to 18 years of age, with resources for age groups 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18.

  Today’s Christian Girl: 2006, Gwyn Oakes felt a burden for an international teaching and mentoring program for the young girls of the United Pentecostal Church. With the help of many friends the vision soon evolved. The need was presented to the national ladies committee and the work began. Leah Seagraves served as the first director followed by Debbie Sanders. The program has many success stories and is growing at a steady pace.
